Ok these are my magpies to date.

They were all so busy trying to play that it was hard to get pics.

__________ Wed Aug 29, 2012 10:33 pm __________

So there they are. Lots of room for improvement but I'm looking forward to the challenge.

Honestly when I bought them I had no idea how much I would like them. And surely didn't know what standard is on the breed. I originally got them to be pets for the kids. But the kids had other ideas on what they wanted in a rabbit. The little does are the sweetest bunnies ever and their temperament is what sold me on the breed more than anything else. So even if they are not show standard bunnies, they are perfect for me  :in_love: . And now that I am hooked it gives me something to work towards. :)

room to improve. Pepper has a decent head on him. That last one looks odd...never saw one come out that that before. Mix Salt with a clean Magpie and you might get quite a bit better colorwise on the kits.

Pepper and salt are both girls. The kids named them. The last two are a NZ/Harli cross. They are bulky things and their babies will taste great. I picked the cross (Chester) from you to be a second buck for that group. There are 6 does and one buck total. I plan to keep doe kits from them so figured a second buck was a good idea. Though he would do a good job in that department.

When I put them on the table salt and Pepper both seem to have pinched hind quarters too. But it could be that they wanted to climb back on me and cuddle. :) There were allot better marked in the litter they came from but I didn't pick them for markings. They are so so sweet. They are also the two that Im afraid got bred right before I got them so should be due this week sometime. Hopefully I'm wrong and they are just fat. In which case I need to stop with the OCD feeding. ;)

I am sure Lem and Milkshake will give me a clean buck kit to raise up to breed Salt and pepper to. They are just what I am needing to get a decent start into magpie Harlequins. :) I am so excited!!!!

I'm really looking forward to mine, I keep hearing such good things about them

You don't have any yet? Are you getting the buck you posted about? for the trade? To me that would be a great deal!!! :p :p :p

I have a couple mini Rex I would trade off for Harlis!!

Thank you. I am getting some really nice Magpies from Canada in a few weeks too. I am super excited.

TM, my potential buck won't be here before October, the breeder is visiting out here and would be bringing him then

Another BC breeder messaged me about Cals and Harlies, so there are potential does but I have to clear some cages first and get the new cage bank set up, which is going to be a bit of a chore (but one I'm looking forward too :) )

I am working on some cages in my garage for my new Harlies. I am going to get mine Mid September. Planning for the 22nd. I cant wait to go get them. Milkshake and Lem are the parents to the cute little babies in the post earlier from Ladysown. I am getting all four that she showed (Milkshake, annie, Chester and Lem) and at least one of the chocolate babies. There is what looks like a lilac in the pic that I like the looks of too. Well we'll see what they look like as they get a bit bigger. :) Then I will make my final choices on the babies. I am really excited to be getting them.
