this is the last of my six champagne d'argent x kits. it's been a rough go. anyway, he's starting to turn silvery on his throat and tummy. supposedly his sire is a chinchilla. he was the teeniest of all the kits, and his last two siblings died in the last two days, randomly out of the blue. here he is posed next to a tape measure. he's about 6 inches long. he is 4 weeks and 4 days old. I brought him inside to see if he would live or die, since the other two died in the cage with the foster mama and her kits.
um, is he really small for his age? all of my satin/nz kits that are five days younger, are much larger. and the rest of my kits are either pure flemish, or flemish/californian, so they are HUGE compared to him. anyhow, I named him Nubbin, and he has a small coffee can with paper towel shreds, laid on it's side, for a hidey hole. He's adorable.

Champagnes are often bred for meat, so I'd think at 4+ weeks he would normally be much larger. Probably around the size of your satin/NZ kits. So he's really tiny!

"Nubbin" is a perfect name for his teeny little self!

He's really cute! Any chance we can get better pics? :) So we can oooooh and aaaaah over him more properly?
