oh my heavens am I ever so excited and scared!! so much to do!
saturday i'm pickin up the last of the ducks and gonna butcher em all and freezer em... the goats are going to auction on Monday... neighbor has a boer doe here that kid died and so i'm milkin her colostrum milk out and drying her off for him...
but most importantly I have to re-do the back of the big hutch so there is no holes between the wood. it's going to be the guinea pig hutch. and I really have no idea at the moment exactly how moving the hutches and rabbits is all going to go right now... cue me pulling my hair out! D: probably going to be early November the actual move.

so if anyone lives near Charlottesville VA I would love to know of any rabbit people in the area. I know some people on here are in VA.

Wow thats exciting! Va is beautiful coutry. Best wishes for you and your family!! :)

Moving with the rabbits was interesting... and mine was a short move. We ended up buying some cheap cardboard boxes from walmart, cut some holes in them and then labled them with 'Live Animal'. They all went in the car, Bubbette went with Hubby in his/her cage inside the cab of the moving truck. The cats got brought down in milk crates, and the birds got brought down in the cat carrier. Anyways, the cages and hutches all went in the moving truck, but again, the buns were in the car with me and my sister. They did surprisingly well. The birds and the cats were the ones freaking out.

I haven't moved with rabbits yet, just dogs, cats, a potbelly pig, and saltwater fish. Best of luck on the move.

Charlottesville is about 300 miles northeast of me. Pretty land up there, close to Shenandoah National Park. I think you're moving close to Secuono.

thanks everyone.

i'll be moving with four does, a buck, and the kits will all be butchered out by then.
and then the guinea pigs.. right now I've got 1 boar and 6 sows in the breeding pen, two young sows putting on weight before they go into the breeding pen, and 6 young sows in the growing pen (two of which are going into the breeding pen end of the month)...
i'm hoping to get contact with a friend of a friend who may have some seriously huge ones and if what I hear is true i'm hopin I can trade some of mine for some of the persons.
really the ones I am definitely keeping is the boar and 4 of the sows. the big thing with me now is all the sows are coming on due and I've been feedin em this whole time... 10/16, 10/22, 11/9, 11/17,...

and the biggest worry of all is actually getting my hutches to the new house 6.5 hours away...

I'll be a a few hours north of you in VA. We hope to buy eventually so we will then have to move bunnies for the first time.
