Moving some kits

I have 2 litters of kits I need to move form moms. One set of 3 and another set of 6.
Can i put the bucks from both litters in one cage and all the does from both litters in another? I am getting short on cages but all the kitts are a little small yet to send to freezer camp.
The litter of 6 are 6 weeks old and the litter of 3 will be 6 weeks old this Monday and yet another set of 6 will be 6 weeks old next Wednesday. If I can doe this that gives me 16 kits I need to put divide up into 3 cages.
How many kits would be the max amount to put in a 24" X 36" cage?

I would be sure to tattoo the kits first so that you know
who the parents were of each. I see no problem mixing the litters together.
Placing no more than ten in each cage as well as separating the Bucks from the Does.
As they mature I would decide who was staying and who would be leaving, and
caging accordingly.

OK thats what I wanted to know. As for the tattoos, all will be going to freezer camp. I do have colored markers to give each one a number inside an ear. Then I will right the numbers in my log book just for reference.Each mother will have it's own color for her litter.
If I see the markings fading I will just remark them.

Ottersatin's guidelines are great.
I combine litters all the time, and I don't tattoo kits intended for freezer camp either.
