Still trying to figure this whole thing out :p

I bred this buck
Buck-Thumper-1.jpg

to this doe
Doe-Fern-1.jpg

and this is what we got. They were born on 11-28-12

Two of the tan ones seem to have points. One does not. One of the tan ones with points also has grey on his sides. He is really quite striking. We also got one white one. Is it a frosty?

If you look back at his fur, it actually has a hint of tan, but you don't see it when you look at his fur any other way.

I also bred this buck
Buck-Shadow-1.jpg

to this doe
Doe-Cookie-1.jpg

and this is what we got. They were born on 11-26-12

4 Agoudis and one tan one. Here's a closer look at him.

I have to admit, the points on the new batches of kits are killing me. I had a Siamese cat growing up and they remind me of her. I think they are adorable.

Our older set of kits are from this buck
Buck-Thumper-1.jpg

to this doe
Doe-Wheezy-1.jpg

and we got these:

3 tans, 1 Chinchilla, 1 frosty, 1 Silver Marten. We lost 2 tans and the Chin.

I have already bred

The does are due for their nest boxes Christmas Eve.

Any more ideas on genetics? All we know is the black buck has checkered giant and silver marten in his background. He also carries satin although he isn't. The tan doe, buck, and then the "whatever she is since her colors aren't right" are supposedly Palomino. The 2 agoudis are meat mutts and are Mother and Daughter.

I don't know too much on genetics but your doe Fern looks to be a Black Tort. I think her two tan babies with 'points' are going to be Black Torts also. And the white a Himilayan. That would be my best guess, but I am no expert!

New at all this genetic stuff myself, but Fern looks like she passed her Black Tort to some of the babies, plus the white could be a Tort as well, due to the mixture of tan through the buns coat. They are sweet.

Also Cookies' one tan could be a "pointed" with that smug of color on the nose. The agoutis are lovely.

Wait until they are older. It takes a bit of time to actually see the real coloring on a rabbit. They do change while they are growing and their adult coat could be completely different than what they start out with. I think that's the fun part. Found out about coat changing with my Siamese Sable Marten. Was just amazing to watch the color change into what he is today.
