Just returned from my son's New Student Conference, where I learned that because hubby and I are Texas veterans, son is EXEMPT from tuition and fees for 150 credit hours!!!! (It takes 120-136 to earn a degree.) I'm in total shock!

I had heard of this program before, but last I checked, one of us had to have been deployed or have a service-connected disability to be eligible. Apparently that's no longer the case.

He has another scholarship that will be enough to cover books, but that amount could be increased (the scholarship committee meets next week to consider it).

sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet! Gotta love when the system works in your favor!

So glad to hear that there is something being offered to Veterans and their children.

Wishing your Son all the success in his continued education.

Karen

Thank you for your service, Trinity and Hubs!

Way to go, Texas!

I wish more businesses/organizations gave "Military Discounts". We have a deposit on a puppy that we are holding until the 31st. We sold her to a military family and gave them a $50 discount on a $250 pup. :)
