I sometimes use a small amount of blackstrap molasses for my rabbits, if I feel they need a boost for any reason. I take grain, kitchen oatmeal, black oil sunflower seeds etc. - about four quarts - and add to it a mixture of molasses, water and sunflower (or other vegetable) oil. I put a teaspoon of molasses, a couple tablespoons of hot water and tablespoon of oil into a cup and mix well... Then stir it into the grain mix. You do not want the mixture to be damp... If it is, add more grain etc. I feed this as part of their grain ration until I feel their condition has improved. It is good for nursed-down does and those hungry fryers that never seemed satisfied.

I've heard of other people mixing blackstrap molasses with apple cider vinegar in a squirt bottle and adding a little to the water of any of their livestock. I've never tired this myself, but it might not be a bad idea.
