molasses

Can my rabbit eat kitchen molasses? They were feed to many bro olli leaves and now have really loose poo. I don't have anymore probiotic to put in their water so I am giving them yougurt in the water but want something a little sweet to add.

A teaspoon in a quart of water is fine-- but best to dry up the GI tract with oatmeal or hay. Even Gatorade or pedialyte would be better than molassas- as you want salts, not sugars..

If it's not to late in the season, find them some blackberry, raspberry or strawberry leaves, or the lawn weeds plantain or shepherd's purse. These plants are great for fighting diarrhea or loose stools.
