Last night around midnight, Miss Roxie blessed us with 8 roly poly kits. One was still born but the other 7 are doing just fine. These kits are Harry's, so it is especially great to have kits from him.

Here are some pics of the new babies! They were full bellied and happy this morning when I checked on them....

I can't say I've seen it, but it certainly can happen. Possibly the last two were in the other horn of the uterus. Just guessing that is why they were kindled separately.

Were the kits less developed? Or do you think she got frightened and stopped her labor before she was done and restarted when she felt safe again?

No clue...by all signs she was done. The kits were cleaned up and in the nest covered with fur when I went out at 6am. Then, when I got home 12 hours later, here were these two kits. Also clean, but very dead.
