Mini Rex - what colors can have blue eyes ?

Aside from BEW, what other colours can have those beautiful crystal blue eyes ?

Blue eyes in rabbits are caused by the vienna white pattern. Two copies of will result in a BEW while one copy results in a vienna marked or vienna carrier. Any rabbit that is vienna marked or a vienna carrier can have blue eyes, but not every rabbit that is vienna marked or a vienna carrier WILL have blue eyes.

So, to answer your question, any color rabbit can have blue eyes, but they have to have the vienna white pattern. It is possible, however, for other colors to interfere with vienna making the eyes an off shade rather than true blue but I don't remember which ones. REW will mask the color completely.

Ah darn - from what I keep hearing, people seem to not like vienna-carrier mini rex unless they are specifically breeding for BEW.

Too bad, those blue eyes are darling !

If you had a good pet market it might be worth it. I think the blue eyes are gorgeous as well.

Anything that gives a ruby cast to normal eyes would give blue eyes an "off" tint. So chocolate or shaded could do it.

Some dilute jersey woolies in my experience have crystal blue eyes. Mostly shadeds and chins though.
