These are the 9 Mini lops born on October 11th 2012 to my Gold tipped black steel doe, Sparkles, and my broken smoke pearl buck, Dixon. Considering the parents are some of my best rabbits I am disappointed in this litter. At this point I see maybe two show quality does and one buck. Thats 3 out of 9! Not good odds.

So nice to see other Mini Lop people :pinkbunny:

I'm not going to comment too much on these guys because they aren't posed up well enough that I can get a real good idea of them BUT there was one I liked best out of the pictures and had the best pose.

Your RR4 looks so be a nice doe. She seems to have a nice "basketball" body and she's got something I LOVE in my Mini Lops: Nice shape to those ears. I'm OCD about ears for some reason lol but the good thing of an open ear, means a nice wider, fuller crown (as long as it is not slipped). Folded ears are a pet peeve, along with poor hindquarters.

If you work, work, work with those Mini Lops at a young age, I promise they will be better and more cooperative when posing. I do all the pictures and posing by myself, and it can be frustrating sometimes, but usually I get get them to do what I need just long enough so I can get the shot. For those that like to sniff old pee on the table, I put laundry detergent on the carpet, scrub, and rinse, and volla! Usually the problem goes away.

Start them practicing when they are nice and young :) The results are so worth the extra effort!

I usually work with them from four weeks old on, but this litter was born and at three weeks I switched from 2nd to 3rd shift. Somehow I seem to have so much less time, its so cold at night I don't want to go out or to take them into the warm house then back to the cold. Which is what I am doing with them now. It's not that they want to sniff stuff, its just they don't want my hand on their head but as soon as I lift my hand they are moving their head, with my hand on their head they pull back. I am working with them more now and its helping, definitely makes a difference if its done from young on or not though.

Nice picts. that's pretty good odds for Rex. I've culled entire litters, and of the 75 or so kits I've had born since last January, I only have 6 make it past 6 mos, and two of those will probably get culled. A year of breeding and I have no homebred kits to show. R

I too like seeing some mini lops on here. I wish I knew enough about judging them to have some constructive input. At this point (having only been to one rabbit show ever) I just toss them in the show and listen to what the judges say and try to learn from that.
