okay...there are five basic types to rabbits right?

Commercial, compact, cylindrical, semi arch, and fully arch.

Where does the mandolin shape come in??? is it under commercial or ????

HUH body types???

I thought the mandolin was a commercial body type, and that you could have full and semi arch.

http://www.raising-rabbits.com/types-of-rabbits.html will show you the 5 body types, and some of the rabbits that have each type.

Full Arch, Semi Arch, Compact, Commercial, Cylindrical.

Just don't confuse the fact that Americans and Beverens, with semi-arch body types, are also used/developed AS meat breeds. The "commercial" body type is long, full, and round. meat everywhere. Semi-arch can also have loads of meat, but it's mostly behind the shoulders.

Mandolin is semi arch, because looks like a mandolin cut in half and set on its side, and they're "semi" arched up. Think Flemish Giant, Beveran, Giant Chin, or English Lop. Full arch is like Brits, Belgian Hares, etc because, well, they're about as arched as a rabbit can get.
