Before I feed this to the entire herd, I wanted to make sure this is Malva.

Thanks! Better safe than sorry, y'know!

I don't really think it is. The flowers are not such a help... I need to see the leaves straight on. Can you post another picture or two?

Just did a google image search for malva... There are a number of different kinds, so your plant may be one I am not familiar with.

Do post another picture or two. The one you posted does not clearly show the leaf shape and the flower is not fully opened so it is hard to see if it has the typical mallow petals. I hope it is mallow - great bunny food. :)

Okay, I compared your new pictures to the one in the link you posted. I think it's a match. As far as I know, all the malvas in North America are okay for bunnies, so I would say use it for one or two for a week or so and if there are no ill effects, introduce it into your mix of greens for all.

You answered my question before I could post it, Maggie! I was wondering if there would be a cumulative effect with certain toxins, and how long to test before considering it safe!

I have one "experimental bunny" that had a couple leaves of it with no adverse effects, so I will give her more and designate another rabbit as "experimental".
