My other dog Maggie finally had her babies today Feb 3rd 2013 @ 2:30am. Making this day 34 for her! She had four babies too, but sadly one passed away shortly after birth :( I think she aspirated fluids as she was gasping for breath. I tried stimulating and warming her up for a good 20-30 minutes... but she sadly slipped away. Two of the other three kits are doing well, the third seems a little weak but okay for now. I think it was a difficult birth for her..

Dad is T-Dog. A solid black Flemish Giant X New Zealand mutt mix. He has since been culled for an abscess, so I am so excited to have some of his offspring for my program.

Mom is Maggie. A black tort New Zealand X mutt. Possible Vienna marked due to the white snip on her nose?

I am very surprised with the outcome of this litter... lots of random pretty markings! Genders are VERY speculative as pictures were taken right after birth and they were still sticky and covered with moms fur...

And Baby #4 - Doe?? RIP SWEET LITTLE ONE :( - she looked kind of long. I suspect she got stuck in the birth canal and aspirated fluids

to get brokens you must have a spot of white on the parents somewhere...a white toenail, white spot under a limb, something.

Intriguing though as at first glance both parents look to be solid.

:yeahthat:

:congratulations:

The last little one looks pretty stressed. Since the litter is small it wont have to fight too much at the milk bar. I hope it makes it! :clover:

Thanks guys :) They are so pretty! Both parents seem to be solid... TDog had lighter pads on his feet, but no white toes. Maggie has a white line on her nose/lips... I figured she might be Vienna marked?

So excited to see how these babes turn out! :D

__________ Sun Feb 03, 2013 11:26 pm __________

One of the remaining three babies passed away today :( It was the long looking black kit. It seemed to be doing okay but looked long and weak. RIP

The remaining two babies have been fostered onto my other doe. I flipped her and made sure both babies got a feeding.

Their colors are really interesting... I think they might be harlies.. but how is that possible?
