the day after Christmas, I put three does with three bucks and only one set seemed to "hit it off". I was 0pretty sure Tandoori was the only one who'd "taken". Today she had five good sized frozen popples when I went out to feed. I brought them inside, tried everything I knew to try and called friends, posted on RT chat and Facebook. After two hours, they were soft and warm, but still no signs of life. I decided to call it. I didn't want to feed them to my own dogs or cats, so I just wrapped them up in a soft towel and put them in the trash bin outside.
I hadn't finished feeding, so I went back to the tarp-shed, and there was the second doe with a big straw stash smile....I scooped her up and brought her into the pantry. Which means that I took Louie out to the shed with not a lot of wool on his little furry tush, but he's got about half an inch of undergrowth, and he's in the warmest hutch. Okay for the moment. I need to get a larger cage in here.
I'm having trouble thinking straight, because I'm having an allergic reaction to something and my eyes are too watery to see thru, and they are swollen part way shut. The third doe, whom I also assume didn't take is already in the pantry with her buck, because they had their wool harvested about two weeks ago. Guess I'll give her some straw and a box, then see what happens.
