Has anyone else found/had a rabbit that has had a lip injury as a result of a fall?
I wish I had a photo.
It happened once to a french angora kit of mine. I was cleaning it's eyes and it freaked, jumped from my hands, and when it fell and hit the ground, it caused the upper lips to separate. Now, I never got to see if/how it healed because the litter all faded away.
Today a friend had a silver fox kit that fell from being held (in the arms of someone who was less experienced with handling rabbits) and the poor thing was bleeding after making contact with the ground. We looked and saw that just under the nostrils, the lips separated.
Has anyone gone through this with the lips healing okay?
To me it seemed like as long as it wasn't touched/pulled apart to keep look then it may heal.
