Lionhead breeding qusition??

I might me getting a pair of lionheads. The buck is a very nice orange double mane boy. The does they have for sale is::: 1 is a very pretty double mane lots of hair Sable Frosted Pearl .2a sable point double mane very nice .3 a cute solid black double mane doe also nice looking. Listed how on who i like the most from 1 to 3. But which would mesh better together?

Depends what colour you intend to breed for.

BUT

Orange and frosted are both agouti and non extension based so I would get the frosted doe.

Sable points and blacks are self based, if bred to an agouti you will likely get chestnuts that carry self.

I would go with the sable frosted pearl, like you my 2nd choice would be the sable point.

Theses will be may daughters show bunnies for 4-h. And i know some colors dont mix so im trying to learn which goes with what lol. She is doing Tri colored holland lops to lol I know a little about that color so we have the pair worked out. So what colors can we expect breeding orange to sable frosted pearl? U said they where agouti so would i get agouti colors?

6 is a nice size litter for a Lionhead and if there were no stillborns I would certainly give her a few more chances.

Are you certain she is sable frosted? I have a sable point frosted mini lop but she looks nearly white with frosted ears. I also get very light looking American Chinchillas, that resemble this doe, who have some unknown modifier making them lighter.

Assuming the doe is a frosty - because they are both non extension as well as agouti you will get more orange for sure and never get chestnut BUT if she is just a light chinchilla you will get chestnuts.

Buck = A_ B_ C_ D_ ee
Doe = A_ B_ cchl_ D_ ee (or if chin fosty = A_ B_ cchd_ D_ ee or if chin = A_ B_ cchd_ D_ E_)

Depending on hidden recessives the two carry you could get frosty or possibly torts, sable points and other non extension colours.

If you are breeding show, get the best type and worry about color later. Build your house before you paint it.

Thanks guys we will start with these 2 and if she likes them we will decided after we get them and see what they produce if there keepers or not. Same goes for the holland lops.
The orange boy has tort and fawn and lots of orange in his background and the doe has lots of Sable point in her back ground. So it looks like u hit it on the nose Dood. Disco the doe will hopefully be bred to Chocolate Agouti buck with chocolate and orange in his background. Hoping she will take and raise this litter and give me a little doe maybe chocolate. But if i understand she could give me Chocolate, chocolate Agouti or sable points.
