Kits hanging out IN the feed dish

Does anyone have a solution for this: from the time they come out of the nest box, and for 2-3 weeks afterward, the kits sit in the feed and mess it up. Once the kits are a little larger, it is too uncomfortable for them to be in there. Is there a way to prevent this and still give full-feed to the kits and the doe?

You could try 2 or 3 smaller dishes that they can't get into or else a large flat dish like a pie plate and put something like a rock or a weighted tin can in the center so they can only feed on the perimeter.

Mine did that too, but they eventually stopped

Which feed? If pellets, you can try a J-style feeder .

They sit in the J feeder, too, until they get larger. The problem only lasts 2-3 weeks, but it ruins some feed.

My suggestion of blocking the center so that they can't sit in the feeder works well and it's easy to do. I've always found that low-tech solutions to small management problems work best.
