Keeping the floor from rusting?

We just replaced the floors on two of our cages today, and need to replace several more. We never had any rust where we lived before (very dry climate), so this is all new to me. Any ideas on how to prevent it in the future? What can I put my salt/mineral blocks on/in to keep the salt from corroding the finish on the floors?

Hang them on a thick wire from the roof, on the floor they'll always rust it

You can use tuna cans wired to the side of the cage to put them in.
