you all know the drill - you start with just one backyard livestock species and that's your gateway to having to have MORE I've been against getting chickens for a while but I was peer pressured into it by my kids and husband and well... that's how we ended up with 30 Buff Orpington chicks  and I have enjoyed them so far...those fuzzy little dinosaur acting monsters....
Our power was out Saturday while the light company did some upgrades and repairs to lines that were damaged during an Ice Storm earlier this month. So I took our chicks out of the brooder and put them in the warm sun for the afternoon. All did was put the food and water in a couple of makeshift chicken corrals and told my 5 and 9 year old to keep an eye on them while I worked in the yard. Apparently my girls felt that the chicks needed a photo shoot...and accessories like tree bark and boxes - what can I say it kept every one entertained. these are just a few of what was almost 100 photos they took
