I picked this guy up a few days ago.
His parents where "brothers" given to the owners from a Vet, his dam is a self black and the sire had harliquin markings, both about 5lbs and normal fur with stand up ears. She had 7 kits, 1 stillborn, the only black one died early(runt?) and 5 surviving kits, 2 harlies and 3 chocolates.
I picked this one, he is the only one that has the rex type fur and curly whiskars.

His ears are up, down, side ways, one up etc.

So my guess is that his parents are lop(mini?)crossed with rex. He is chocolate right? His eyes are not red, it's just my flash. His coat is not as nice are my purebred rexes, he is 10 weeks old and in his "Uglies" stage :)

:rotfl:

I have no idea why people think vets are educated in this sort of stuff. I came into work one day and a huge white pigeon had a bowl of canned cat food in its cage because the vet thought it was a hawk!! :twilightzone:

But back to the subject at hand.

He is very cute and I love his crinkly whiskers. He looks chocolate and since his parents were siblings, it is likely his grandparents were a normal coated self harlequin lop with a poor crown and a chocolate rex.

 Dood when I worked for a vet, one of our clients called and wanted us to come over and get an injured Bald Eagle. One of the girls returned with a white chicken that had fallen off the truck on the way to the processing plant!

Thanks for the confirmation :)

When I worked at the SPCA I walked into the back room after a day off to be greated by a young horned owl. The girls who where working that day gave him bird seeds! Amazing how many bird rescue fails are out there!
