It is contagious. I think my husband may have it too. I was showing him OneAcreFarm's outdoor setup, and he's planning something similar for our back yard. Two does and one buck just isn't enough.

Yah, my old man was skeptical that I could raise and butcher the rabbits. No problem with the first litter. The second litter, all were sold as pets. That's what I get for having the runout pen in the front yard  But, at about 5 weeks old, he would pull the one brown one from the indoor corral and stand over me, stroking the baby and saying, "You better hope someone comes to buy you before mom puts you in the freezer." <hmpf> And, he was raised on a farm!

Now, with the third litter, he is asking to keep the one brown one as his pet and trying to get my daughter to lay claim to the only black one :D

But, he is also wanting Bunny Alfredo from the loins in the freezer  Make up your mind, old man :D

We have a single black bunny in the barn & my friend keeps making 'you're so cute' comments at it so I'm thinking that's going to be the first on the bus to freezer camp. I have enough breeding does in this breed & way too many bucks already. I'm planning to only add one, maybe two more breeds to the barn & that can't happen until I do some constructing. So I've been vaccinated, temporarily, against rabbitosis.

Now where did I put that ad for those Californians?
