j clips???

so i want to make some more cages but this time instead of using wooden frames and nailing the wires to them i want to

make all wire cages using j clips but not sure which j clips i need, either (5/16 x1/2) or (3/8x5x8) which size is the right

size also who has the best prices on j clips and the pliers

I didn't know they came in two sizes!!! I did notice a difference in the shape of the hooked end between brands.. You want a size that will fit both strands of wire within the hook part, so that both strands are totally encircled by the clip...

I believe the 5/16 will make a tighter cage. Either would probably work

yea i read on the website that 5/16 makes a tighter cage just want to make sure i can use that on most gages of wire

they have worked on the thin cr$p Lowe's wire I bought first, as well as the thicker stuff I recently bought.

Try Klubertanz.com if you are going through a catalog.
If you have a Feed store nearby, you can probably purchase
the [J] clips and the pliers from them.
If having a problem getting the two wires to mesh
for "J" clipping, purchase or use a needle-nose plier
to hold the wires together while you close the 'J' Clip.

Also get an end nipper. Sooner or later you will get an "OOps" clip that you put in the wrong place and they're a pain to remove any other way. The Jclip removers you buy are nothing but end nips.
