I'm trying to find some good information about dosing rabbits with Ivermectin.

I wanted to worm my rabbits since they are on the ground. Also anyone have information on Revolution? The shelter here said they use Revolution on their rabbits and guinea pigs but won't tell me a dose because it's not for use in those animals.....

I know with my goats, I give the ivomec 1% injectable ORALLY. Would I do that or give via injection? And how do I find doses?

http://www.morfz.com/rx/drugcalc.html Ivermectin is just as effective topically, orally, and injected. Some routes are just faster acting than others.

The revolution dose is slightly controversial. Pfizer reccommends 6mg/kg but it has been tested up to 18mg/kg and that is the dosage recommended in most places on the net. It probably depends if you are doing a one time dosage or regular dosage every month like you would a cat or dog.

If you want to buy a larger tube to save money the concentration is the same so the dose would remain the same. http://www.sheltermedicine.com/document ... sing-chart

I use Normectin 1% Injectable for cattle, which sounds the same as Ivomec.

It might not help a lot as far as figuring a dosage, but I use about 5 drops topically in each ear for my breeder rabbits and 1.3 cc orally for each dog per month.

I'm not too concerned about overdose, since it's pretty well tolerated.

I don't worry too much about overdosing either, since I don't it frequently. It's hard to overdose, I just put a drop in the back of the neck, and put a few drops in the dogs meat.
