Last night I left the 25 day old litter in a x-pen on the kitchen floor. The mother was in a cage in the living area. This morning when I went to let them nurse I found the kits had all escaped and made their way to their mother's cage. When they saw me they ran towards me so I caught them and placed them in with the mother for their morning feeding.
It must be the smell.
