Just thought it might be nice to have a thread about the 2011 ARBA Convention. Yeah... i realise it is still about 2 months away... but time is starting to fly ! ( along with the rabbits fur ! :lol: )

Who might be going... breeds they are taking.

Other thoughts and questions and/or hiccups getting there....

i live in indy so i'll definitely be scouting around but i doubt i will be showing. if i was, i'd show one of my junior does, but honestly, i don't think its worth it. people spend months an months preparing individual rabbits and they start breeding a year in advance for the shows. the quality of my animals are not competitive (yet). maybe in a few years. i'll probably buy a few satins there though, if anyone has some i could use

There is good and bad about buying stock at Convention... Good you will see rabbits of your breed from ALL over the country that you may not have had a chance of getting anyway else. Bad because everyone inflates their prices horrendously!!! $40-50 dollar animals are now reaching 100 to 200 dollars. Of course there will be deals but be prepared to act fast on those! There will also be those rabbits that reach even higher dollar values especially if a good one comes up at a Breed Club auction.

I will be going..ima bring my show team of woolies and hollands. Ill also have a very very nice rew sr buck jersey wooly im putting in the golden fleece(jw club auction).

I sooooo wish I could be going. Since I'm rebuilding and all after college, I really don't have anything to take. Pepper will (hopefully) have little ones on the ground by then and she's the best gal I got.

I'll be at Wichita for sure though!

Is anyone still looking for a room mate? I got the final OK to go to Convention last night. Probably will not bring anything with me, so I will fly directly into Indy and will just need to share a room. I'm mid-20's and interested in getting out and checking out the nightlife and dining and stuff like that after the bunny stuff is done, so it would be fun to have a roomie with similar interests.
