So I was strolling through Ikea the other day when something caught my eye....something that could solve my hay rack dilemma (in that I needed some badly!).

A cute little basket thingy in the bathroom/shower section!

Attached it to the inside of the hutch and tadaaaa!

At $2.00 I figured I could afford to experiment.

Oooh, that reminds me of some cheap plastic magazine racks that I got that are meant to hang on nails on the wall! I could easily wire them to the outside so all the goodness is funneled to the rabbit....

Thanks for the inspiration!

It seems to work well! When I went out to feed this morning it was practically empty and all that was at the bottom was bare stems. The hutch it is in belongs too my Cali doe who is crazy about her food. There is rarely a time that she leaves even a single pellet in her dish or a scrap of hay uneaten. Once she is done with her portion (which is in no time flat) she stamps her feet for more. I have to resist giving in to her lest she become too fat to breed. But she is about to kindle so she is on free feed, she never resists breeding and I think it is just because she knows she will get extra food if she get knocked up :)

__________ Mon Feb 07, 2011 2:50 pm __________

Ok, went back to Ikea this weekend since the hay rack worked out so well. When I found them they had a last chance sale sticker on them. Needless to say I cleaned them out! Phew! Glad I remembered to go back :)
