Are you still going to do the necropsy? That would give you more info to base your decision on. Plus it would be really good to know if the impaction was caused by a foreign body or something else. Not an easy thing to contemplate doing, but if you can bring yourself to do it I believe the results may bring you some closure.

Yes, unfortunately, I couldn't do it immediately, the body is in full rigor. I had to tutor tonight, but just as well, I was waiting for it to relax, to make it easier for me to cut open. i really need to see what I felt, that lump in the gut.

Sorry for your loss but I was wondering since the breeder cull the dam maybe this was not the first case with his line of rabbits
