Just wondering how to keep our water bottles from turning green in the hot summer weather. I've been washing them when I notice the discoloration, but it's so tedious. :?

definitely!! I am using Vanilla in the drinking water for my rabbits, and there been no algal growth as of this date. ACV, white vinegar, vanilla-- all change the pH just a tad--

IF you can get it, you can also add Vanodine to the water. I add 1/2 tsp to a gallon of water and that sanitizes the well water and also prevents the algae growth.

Drop a few pebbles into the water-bottle,
add some water and detergent if you wish.
shake vigorously and the algae will shake loose then rinse.
Ottersatin. :eek:ldtimer:

Forgot to add to my earlier post that direct sunlight will make algae grow real fast. So if there is a way of keeping the bottles out of direct sunlight as well it might slow things down a bit
