how to keep hay out of poop

Does anyone have a way to keep hay out of the poop? I like feeding my rabbits hay but alot gets mixed in the poop which kills it for selling around here. Any suggestions?

You could have a one-inch wire mesh on top of the pan that would catch the hay but let the "bunny berries" fall through.

I feed the waste hay to my goats so I want to minimize bunny-berries in it. I have the corrugated plastic panels, and what I do is scrape the hay at an angle across the dropping boards- the poop stays in the "trough" and the hay falls down. I gather the hay and then do a second scraping to push the poo down. Mind you, when I clean out the area under the cages there is still a lot of hay mixed in, but not as much.

Another possibility is to sell composted bunny poo- that way the hay will have broken down as well.

I had all the hay silos on the outside of the cages for awhile. The hay fell on the floor of the colony and little went in the cage as they had to pull each piece through the wire.

build hay racks inside the cage...it's helps ALOT!
