How early to remove nest box?

These two little ones of Big Mama's have gotten quite active over the last several days.




I am considering taking out the nestbox after the rain is gone. They are 16 days old this morning. How can I tell the right time to take out the box?

When I take out the nestbox, I put something else in for them to use for snuggling and warmth at night. Usually it's just a pile of hay. If they are proficient at getting in and out, their eyes are open and they're out more than they're in, then it's time to take it out.

I usually tip the box on the side at 14 days and remove at 21...

i've been taking the nest box out at 2wks. the kits so far seems soon as they hop out they never go back in hahaha. but i have a litter (2 left of 8 ) that because of coon problems they are just over 2wks old but i leavin the nest in for em to hide in until i get the coons takin care of.

The Big Ten will probably lose their box this Thursday. Hard to believe they'll already be 3 weeks old at that time.
