In a previous litter we got 2 rabbits that were called Frosty/Ermine. We really liked the way they looked and they sold super quick. The sire is a chestnut, carries REW. The dam is a VM Fawn. I'd love to work towards being able to get an entire litter of the Frosty/Ermine but don't know how to do that. I'm assuming it is not simply breeding 2 frosties together.

Actually it is :D

Of course you can get other colours show up if there are hidden recessives but if you breed two frostys with this genotype you will ONLY EVER get frosty's - AA BB ccdl cchl DD ee

Genetically a frosty/ermine is a chinchilla (or shaded) fawn.

If your buck carries REW then the doe must carry chinchilla or shaded. If you cannot get a frosty buck then I recommend you get a sable point.

If your doe doesn't carry self then you should get 50% frosty and 50% fawn. If she does carry self then statistically 50% of the litter should be frosty or sable point and 50% should be fawn or tort.

If the buck is carrying rew then the frosty are not pure chin. They would be chl(light chin/sable) or chd (dark chin) with c(rew). You may get some rew from crossing 2 frosty. You wouldn't have that if you bred a buck back to the dam since she is the one carrying chd or chl but then you will get some reds/fawns. If they carry self you could get a nonextension sable point. Not sure what that looks like but judging by what a nonextension himi looks like it would probably just have weird lightened markings on the points. If by fawn you mean a dilute red (some breeds do some it's another name for plain red) then breeding back to the dam or crossing siblings could also result in blue versions of those colors. Majority of the litter though should be frosty.
