Hmmm, how odd actually having the time to think about sitting down and writing an update.

Busy busy time of year, with all the outside work. Starting to get the yard cleaned up and the manure pile moved. Have opened up the shed for the rabbits, and the grazing cages. Market getting started and all the stuff that goes along with that.

I've learned to drive. Took driver's ed, can take my driving test next month. I still absolutely hate driving, but I can do it safely, and now that I have gotten practice, I am less scared and anxious. Mind you, I haven't gone on the big highway yet, so there's always that!!

I learned I am in the 90th percentile for my age group. I was not given an actual IQ number, but was told it was in the gifted - extremely gifted range. I am looking at schooling, I doubt I will set my goals very high because I simply do not want to spend the next 12 years getting hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt learning to do a job. I will most likely find something I can finish in 2-3 years. I am thinking paralegal, or perhaps something in marketing/advertising. I found out that I get to spend the summer going to various meetings to figure out what I would be suited to do, that I can do without wanting to gouge my eyeball out.

So the rabbits :

No more meat rabbits(I still miss Eddie). The herd went to a friend, though, so I know they're being well taken care of. I do occasionally send the big buns large chunks of apple tree, though.

No more hollands. I gave my buck to the same friend with Eddie, and she's also buying the sr doe. I'm selling off the 2 kits I have(including the broken chocolate I just bought) and then they're gone.

Downsized the lions a bit - Sold off a buck and 2 does, except one of the does is back because I am hoping to show her(I doubt she'll do well, but I want the first rabbit I show to be an Alaska kit).

Who's Left?

Theon, my super nice buck. Tiny and compact, and nicely maned... except he likes to rub his face in his pee after he sprays his cage, so I generally keep it cut down(otherwise it's impossible to clean and mats).

Reese is a big boy, but nicely put together and has held his mane well. I only bought him in March, at an auction.

Daenerys, my little orphan girl. She's taking after her mother and being overwooled without a clean saddle. She's expecting her first litter soon.

Meadow, we call her psycho bunny, because she is simply not a good fit for a home environment. I received her in trade as a kit. She is teeny tiny, I think the smallest doe I own.

J'Adore - I inherited this rabbit when a friend was diagnosed with cancer and unable to keep her small herd any longer.

Eden - The other doe I inherited from my friend. I also received a buck, but sold him during the downsize.

And Alaska. The old girl's still kicking around, and...

is currently nursing a litter! That I need new photos of, lol.

So that's the long and short of what I've been doing since I last disappeared.

Alaska!! And Alaska babies!! *happy dance*

Yay you for learning to drive. I remember being literally forced to learn at age 17 by my mom, who was tired of driving me back and forth to work. It was a lot like "You're gonna sit at this table until you eat that broccoli". I was scared to death, so I understand what a big accomplishment it is. Go you!

I can speak to the paralegal idea- I think you would be great. You seem to have a details-oriented mind and that is a necessity. Along with being able to multi-task, on a large scale. One of the things I loved most about the profession was that it was always changing. No two days were ever the same.

SQUEEEEEEE!!! They all look soooooo cute! I want them...I'm gonna steal some of your guys' bunnies. Now everybody has a bunny but me.

__________ Sun May 17, 2015 11:12 am __________

Alaska, Meadow, Daenarys, and Reese are my favorites ... :p :p :p :p :p :p :p

Congrats! Driving is scary business at times. I won't share my accidents with you... none of which I caused mind you. Just promise to never, ever, ever, be doing anything other than driving while you're behind the wheel.
