Got him free with cage. He's supposed to be super sweet and friendly and doesn't bite and blah blah blah... little sucker would have shredded my arm if I wasn't wearing a coat earlier. Hasn't bit me yet, but is eating his face off - he's pretty underweight. I didn't get any pellets with him so he's got tons of hay, oats and a small portion of pellets.

He was advertised as a purebread holland flop. I figure he must be a very rare breed indeed!

;) Not a Holland anything. He seems as if he is a mix, to me, but I am not very experienced with whatever he may be.

Where on earth do you get jersey wooly from??

I think he's a ND/HL, is my guess. All I was told is that his mom was black and his dad was white(guessing BEW, explains the vienna)

He was also just given a bath, presumably to clean the poop off him so I didn't insult the former owners.

cant really see shape great from the pics but definitely some good dutch marking. coloring looks chocolate with blue torting going on?? maybe its the pics, dunno.

cute though.

If he is dutch, it's a cross, but I am pretty sure it is just vienna... look at those blue eyes!

now i'm curious! :p I think this calls for age, weight, posed pics! ;)

from the second pic he really seems dutch to me. and I know dutch get blue eyes sometimes but its a DQ. I always wished i'd get one pop up with the ones i'd had but never did.

If he's under 4lbs, I would call him a Dutch x Netherland Dwarf. If he's over 4lbs (after being fattened, of course) he's a badly marked Dutch.

Congrats! Free is great!

I dunno, I think he might be part lionhead. he has weird tufts of longer fur here and there.

How should I pose him?

I didn't notice longer fur of possible mane.. hmm..

maybe try and pose him sitting like lionheads and one with him down and squished like dutch?

I had one lionhead doe who was older and pulled so much fur when she kindled she had almost no mane at all to speak of and she was a "b.u.d" (Big Ugly Doe) if there ever was one but she had 8 every time and raised em all up each time.

And just for Grumpy - Posed in a stew pot(all my fry pans are non-stick)

He did NOT like posing up at all. Fought me every inch of the way and never felt "right" in the pose. Went down far more easily, but I have no experience, so could be wrong about how he felt, but it felt better. He's just a hair under 3lbs, 8oz, boney but his tummy is stuffed full
