I ended up getting a light brahma and buff orpington from my aunt Thursday. Well I've noticed that the rooster I have keeps chasing around the young brahma I got. I'm curious why his just picking on this one and not the new buff I got. I've been really looking at it just to make sure its not another roo since mine keeps picking on it but it looks to be a hen. But if its a hen why is he picking on her? So my question is what do you think? Hen or Roo

Looks like a lovely hen to me :) He may be chasing her/picking on her if she's refusing to submit/get bred by him. She may not be listening to him and therefore he's trying to keep her in line as well.
I had a group of chickens and the rooster led his merry band across the yard into the tree line. When they got there, he realized that one of his girls was missing so he went charging back to the brush where the last hen was and gave her a swift peck on the head and chased her back to the group.
Good rooster! lol

Definitely a hen, he might want to breed her and she's not submitting, gorgeous!
