Hey guys, just wondering if you guys could help me put a name to the breeds/colors behind these two does of mine (breeds are guaranteed a mix, so more looking for guesses based on their type, etc).

First is the darker colored chocolate? Her name is Dillman (long story, my 2 year old named her... I call her Dilly LOL) and second is Sandy, the.. sand colored doe.

As far as coat texture, Dilly has a longer coat, and fluffy. Sandy's is quite short and not fluffy. I BELIEVE they are out of the same litter, but they were bought from a breeder in town that produces just random crosses, so it's hard to say.

I think the first 2 pics look orange. Then there's a shaded something. Might be a dark sable. If it's younger the color won't have fully developed. The last 2 pics I would guess chocolate with the orange. Chocolates also have a higher chance of red eyes coming out in pics so that can be of some help in bad pics or some of the stranger colors with chocolate base.

Okay, I see:

Fawn, Fawn(body pic pls?), GTS chocolate, and Chocolate tort & chocolate.

Sandy is chestnut agouti in Flamish Giants. As for the breed it's hard to tell; they have bulky bodies which suggest meat breeds but it's hard to tell what they have been mixed with.

I'd say "Sandy" is a fawn (= A_ B_ C_ D_ ee W_) or possibly an orange/red (=A_ B_ C_ D_ ee ww )

And "Dillman" is a chocolate gold tipped steel (= A_ bb C_ D_ ES_ W_ )

Yes, same two does in all pics, some are when I first brought them home, and some recent. I will run out and try to get some good pics now for you.

Ok here are some pics I just took now.. lighting isn't great because it's a cloudy overcast kind of day, but they're far better than the other pictures.

__________ Fri May 08, 2015 4:31 pm __________

More pics

Yeah, I'd say orange and chocolate GTS(gold tipped steel) too.

This thread is a perfect example as to how much of a difference lighting can make when it comes to color ID. ;)
