Hi everyone
I am totally clueless with rabbit genetics, as I mainly keep my bunnies as pets, and would very much appreciate some expert help in indentifyjng what this colour is! No real reason- it's just bugging the life out of me now! Lol!
We had a totally unplanned litter between a very unlikely pair: my Flemish Giant doe, Jessica, and my Dwarf Lop (Mini lop in America, I believe?), Benjamin. Jessica as a first time mum delivered 10 healthy kits, and they all survived - she was a fabulous mummy, bless her .
Jessica is orange. I remember she was the only orange kit out of her litter- the rest were all steel, according to her breeder.
Benjamin is a blue chin/squirrel, and his siblings were also squirrel, with the exception of one opal.
In Jessica and Benjamin's litter there were: 4 x chestnut agoutis; 3 x squirrel/blue chins; and 3 x unknown colour!
In the nest, they stood out as being much, much lighter, and were kinda pearly/silvery in colour.
I kept one doe as a pet, her name is Rosie. She looks almost chincilla in colour now, but sometimes has a bit of orange smut on her body. Her eyes are blueish-grey, and with a sort of browny/reddish tinge to them in certain light.
Google searches have thrown up: chinchilla, shaded agouti, blue seal agouti. I haven't a clue. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance
