So, the doe that was super stressed last night was doing better this morning, but when I went to go check on them she was pulling fur all over the place and had a mouthful. I grabbed a plain cardboard box that was handy and put it in there with her and gave her a handful of salvaged timothy hay from the transport boxes. She immediately started fussing with the box and carrying a haystache.
Now, I was told they were due on Feb. 18th. Is this a sign she might be losing kits, which I expect...or could she have been bred sooner (since I wasn't the one breeding I have no idea if his dates are correct) and the stress could be causing real labor. What do I do, here? The one nestbox I actually own is back with the other stuff in the wrecking yard which I won't get for a few days. I do have some rubber maid tubs. I could go get a metal nest box from TSC. Is she just freaking out and should I avoid a nesting box at all so she'll readjust?
