At some point you'll either want to separate the buck and the doe, or get one or the other spayed or neutered, or get wire with smaller holes near the bottom to keep the babies from wandering out.
They're also likely going to chew on the furniture, so make sure it's non-toxic materials. And a long toothed steel comb will be useful for getting out mats.
Are you going to spin their wool into yarn?
They are in separate Bass Equipment Angora cages at night or when I'm not in my office/studio. When they're out and mature, I'll do two xpens or a time-share situation.
Haven't decided on breeding. I have other animals (and pets) so it will depend on the time I can devote to them. I have been breeding a flock of rare chickens, and
quite a bit of work to hatch and raise.
Also, since Satin and French are different Angoras, I probably wouldn't breed them together, especially given their pedigree and parents' show history. For now they're a lovely set of fiber rabbits I hope will get along. I will enjoy spinning their yarn.
All of the furniture is unfinished, non-toxic, and animal safe. Most of it is made by hand for rabbits. The ikea stuff is unfinished (they're good about listening materials, and have a few things without finish or lacquer).
I have a ton of brushes and combs, for rabbits, dogs, and wool processing--and double-coated dogs not allowed upstairs because my studio is too exciting and woolly for them, and now has rabbits. I will brush and pick (pluck, it's said) fur off the Angoras like I do with the pups, as they shed.
Thanks for the interest & help!
