Hello! My family and I just began our rabbit journey. We have traditionally handled parrots (Green cheek conures, parrotlets and Indian ring necks) so my knowledge of genetics is strong in the parrot world, but rabbits are a literal whole new world (cue flying carpet).

We homeschool our 3 kids (only 1.5 of school age) and have close to 7 acres in sunny southeast Florida.

Bunnies and parrots keep mama home to keep on homeschooling and loving the babies!

Enough about me, on to the fluffs!

So we have Holland lops and netherland dwarfs and while I trust one of the ladies we got almost all of the lops from, the lady we got the dwarfs from didn’t seem as knowledgeable. So now I question everything. * is male, rest are female.

Holland Lops: (all are pedigreed except bun bun)
Peter* and Patches had Bucky*, Minnie, Princess and Pitter Patter.

Peter* is Chestnut white ear
Patches is Japanese black/orange harlequin
Bucky* is cream vm white ear
Minnie is cream vm white ear
Princess is Japanese orange fawn harlequin
Pitter Patter is chestnut vc

Sparkles is opal
Layla is tricolor broken?
Bun Bun* is blue eyed white
Honey is cream vm with blue eyes😀
Dash* is a broken black tort

Now for the Dwarfs:
Hopper is a black otter. (Tan-ish cream fur)
Beautiful is a silver marten. (White fur not tan or cream)
Bashful is blue otter?
Breezy is blue otter?
Maximus* is broken black (photo by himself at end)

None of my dwarfs are pedigreed except Maximus*. Beautiful and Breezy are mom/daughter.

do those colors seem right?

I don't know anything about your breeds, but they all look beautiful to me! I homeschooled our 5 kiddos. Now I homeschool my 8 year old granddaughter. Welcome to RabbitTalk! :)

Howdy! Hope you enjoy your time here on RT!

I breed Rex, so I am mostly familiar with genetics terminology in that breed, but there are a couple things I noticed about your rabbit's colors. Princess looks like a black/orange (Japanese) harlequin to me, unless she is a chocolate/orange? I am leaning toward Layla being a broken black tort, not a tricolor. She is lightly marked, which makes her look different than Dash.

The Netherland Dwarf rabbits I am not so sure about.

They all look fun and pretty!

She is black/orange but she’s light so that makes her fawn? I have no idea honestly. She’s the daughter of the jap in the other photo… she’s one I question… as well as the tri color! Haha

Beautiful herd! I'm new to rabbit genetics too, but I'm wondering if Layla is a charlie black torte. Is she mostly white on her body? Or does she have more than 10% color? I don't know anything about fawn or what makes it fawn.

They seem to live up to their names and are all cute. Thanks for sharing.

There’s two more photos of Layla. I’m horrid with percentages.

I'm can't tell by looking at her, but maybe not a charlie? The pictures I've seen seem to be almost all white with a little coloring on their faces/head.
