We are having an unseasonably cold spell. Our first snow has dropped over a foot. we normally don't even have snow at Christmas. I have 2 litters due in 2 days and the high will be in the 20's with a low of 1. This is my first year raising rabbits so I need a little help. My Rabbits are in a shed that is enclosed on all sides except the main entrance, which has a tarp that I put down when it gets really cold or windy. I have 4-100 watt lights that I keep on during the day when the tarp is down.
The does that are due, have their own hutches with an enclosed area except for the doorway. This area is used for the nest boxes. I use hay in the nest boxes and they have both started pulling fur. Both of the does are experienced mothers. So my question is do I need to use any source of heat for my nest boxes?
