Alright, I was cleaning Lily's cage, and had to use the scraper to get the hay/poop off the bottom. Someone had spilled the water dish, so I was gathering that up, and Lily decided she didn't like it. She seemed really tense, so I stopped, let her investigate, and she seemed to calm down. As soon as I started using the scraper again, she ran to the edge of her cage, and JUMPED!! She seemed to realize about halfway over the cage wall that she had made a mistake, though, as she tried to catch herself with her hind feet. Unfortunately that did more harm than good, because instead of a normal arching, she managed to skew her body, and fall head first. She landed on the nest box, on the wall, and fell to the floor. I totally thought she was dead, because she seemed to have a small seizure, her whole body shaking for about 10 seconds then she laid still. I was just about to freak out when she rolled back onto her feet and sat there. She seems okay now, eating and drinking, moving normally, but I'm worried that she may have internal bleeding or something.

Does anyone know what I should expect because of this? Since she seems fine now, what are the chances that she simply stunned herself for a moment? I know that rabbits have easily broken bones, but would she still be moving around if there was serious damage? I know the obvious signs I should look for(trouble moving, blood, teeth grinding, screaming) but what else should I be watching for?

She likely stunned herself... perhaps a concussion? I had a rooster once who crash landed when coming down from the roost. I was sure he was a goner, but he was crowing up a storm the next morning. Mind you, he wasn't ever quite himself after that. He lost the sight in one eye and was just not quite as vigorous as before. Hopefully Lily will be just fine.

all you can do is wait and see. if she's hopping and moving that's a good sign, give her a few days though to just settle down.

I was completely stunned when it happened. Normally I have the bucket I scoop into on the ledge so she doesn't think she can jump out, but I was scooping right into the litter box to just dump it all at once, so didn't bother. What a mistake :(

She still seems okay this morning. Doesn't seem confused or anything, came up to me when I was checking on things, did her usual beg for treats(she won.). I had her out right before bed, checked all her limbs, no heat or swelling, no teeth grinding or screaming when I manipulated her. She's using all her limbs to move, and doesn't seem to have any problem raising/lowering her head. Head doesn't seem swollen, and no blood.

I think she'll be okay. I was worried about bleeding of her brain, but I think I'd see signs by now. So fingers crossed, hopefully we're good. In the future, though, I'm taking Lily out of the cage to clean it.

How's Lily feeling today? Hope all is well.

And regarding removing rabbits while cleaning cages, learn the same as you. Neville jumped out on me. Thankfully he landed feet first and on carpet. So much easier cleaning when they are in the carrier, safe and sound. Plus they all now know when cleaning day is because they very patiently wait in the carrier. My rabbits do so well on a routine.

Still good, though she's acting a little oddly. Nursed her babies last night for the first time in 4 or 5 days. Turned up her nose at a rose clipping, which she normally loves, but ate the dandelion greens, carrot tops and apple trimmings that I offered at the same time. Still eating/drinking/pooping fine, but she's been peeing in the bottom of the cage, rather than the litter box. Dunno if that's cuz she wacked her head, or because she's just being a brat. Could go either way.
