What is the difference in giving grass hay vrs fresh grass for eating? Is there a specific reason for the need to be dry other than storage?
How about for nesting? Can fresh grass be used or is it better to use hay?

For nests use only dry material. It will rot fast and not absorb anything if it's grass.

I would think grass would hold more nutrition than hay, but can't be stored unless it's dried. My rabbits refuse hay, so it's not like it is necessary when grass is available full time.

Hay provides more fiber than fresh grass. Lots of people will dry their own grass to make hay. The only reason I can see not to use fresh grass in a nest box is that it won't be absorbent and may not dry well and will mold...that and the Doe may eat it all!
