Has anyone showed a doe after breeding her?

I'm not sure if I'm posting in the right place but I was wondering... I have a doe ready to breed but I have a show next weekend would she be ok if I bred her then took her to the show? I guess I'm just scared she'll get stressed and lose the babies...

I haven't, but the general consensus seems to be that if she is less than two weeks along it will probably be okay.

I'm considering the same thing for this weekend and maybe next. I bred my two brood does last week and am planning on breeding my other two which just came of age. It dawned on me, I don't have any juniors! Waaaaaa. And, fall show season is cranking up. Unfortunately, it looks like my 3 showable senior bucks will be it until late this year - maybe.

She will be fine, provided the show is a one day affair with limited travel time.
I don't think I would breed her a week in advance, haul her for a day, spend a week at a fair type show with a million people, noises, foods, then drive home for another day.

I'm planning to do this next spring if I need to, all the shows available are within a couple hours drive and never more than a weekend

Yup, I usually keep showing a bred doe up until they're about 2 weeks along. But I did once transport a doe to a show to be picked up by the buyer and she was 29 days along that day. I just kept her in a covered dog crate and the buyer picked her up early and took her home. She had 6 with no problems.

I did it a couple of times as a youth exhibitor. Generally speaking, 10-14 days after breeding is where the cutoff date needs to be. The closer you get to the due date, the worse it tends to be in terms of stressing the doe IMHO.

I lost my litter of seven and almost my doe that way. I wasn't even sure she was pregnant, and did not plan to go to that show. She has never recovered, she won't breed willingly, and has had two small litters of scraggly kits. I won't do it again.
