Guess what? Hammie, our Polish doe kindled. :cheer2: She had 4, 3 broken blacks and 1 black. 2 brokens were peanuts. 1 died an hour ago and it is clear that the other peanut will die. We just didn't have the heart to kill them. I sexed them early on day 1 because that worked last time. The broken black us a girl (yay!) And the black is a boy.

Yep! Never done it myself, although I was thinking about trying with the next litters. There is a whole thread about it with great pictures and all! do a search for "Sexing Newborn kits"

I didn't think I could do it but I matched my previous litter up with the pics on that thread that ek.blair mentioned and 75% if the babies turned out the correct gender. So I figure it will work this time. 1 peanut is still hanging on. I'll get pics ASAP.

Congratulations! Sorry about the peanuts. My Polish doe kindled a week ago, she had 5 and none were peanuts I was surprised because I had expected at least one peanut since she is only 2 1/2 ibs and the buck is 3 ibs, apparently one of them (I'm assuming the buck) isn't a true dwarf or I just got lucky. Atleast your broken is a doe mine is a buck, I really don't need another buck, but if he has nice type I may keep him and try breeding him back to the mother to see what I get.
