I bought a whole bunch of seeds, for really cheap at a local nursery. I now have carrots, white-tipped sparkler radishes, red millet, white millet, canary grass, lentils and several other plants growing for my rabbits. I picked up some dandelions on the way back from the dog park too. So far, only the dandelion and lentils have sprouted.

Does anyone know if lentil sprouts or the lentil plant (as oppose to the lentil, itself) are safe for rabbits to eat? It's the high amount of starch in the lentils that makes them unsafe for rabbits to eat - so if the plant doesn't have any other toxicities, it should be fine.... Am I wrong?

Sigh. Growing plants is like having a green baby!

Don't see any reason why not. I feed sprouted lentils to the birds and they are far more sensitive.

Interesting. I have no experience with feeding lentils or lentil sprouts, so I do hope, Pink, that if you try it that you will post an update.

Not sure if I'd risk trying it, without proper evidence that its safe. I'll continue researching and will let y'all know what I find out.
