As I have mentioned, since getting meat rabbits for my personal use I have heard from a LOT of people interested in buying some from me. I do not even want to deal with selling a dressed rabbit and any government regulations that go with. Also, if I am putting the effort out to kill and dress it, I am eating it, lol. The interested people I have talked to are the hunter types who would have no problem dressing their own anyway. So, if I sell a live meat rabbit at butchering weight, what would be a good price. I really have no market to compare it to around here. I think the reason there is such an interest is because there is not much in the way of a supply here anyway. I don't really want to be in the rabbit selling business, but providing a few for a couple of friends & family wouldn't be out of the question.

Around here its pricey, around $15-20 and you're lucky if you don't get retired breeders.

I think $15 is fair for a 4-5 lb fryer.

Figure out what it cost you to raise them to butcher weight. Feed, water, cage space, your time... Then Double that and add what profit you think you need/want to make.
Check Craigslist and see what the going the going price is and adjust your price if needed. Not good to sell your rabbits for less than it cost to raise them.
For me it cost $4.50 to get to weight. $4.50 x 2 = $9.00 plus my time and the profit I want is about $10.00, so I will ask at least $19.00.
Rabbits on Craigslist where I live are going for $15.00 - $25.00.

I would go on what the price per pound dressed weight would be.

Here they easily fetch $7.00/pound. So if a 5 pound live weight equals 2.5 pounds dressed (generally) then $17.50 I would consider a fair price.

I'm sure other folks have different ways to figure prices.

around here they are listed on craigs list from $10.00 up to $50.00 live.
I have been charging $10.00 to $15.00 depending on size.
I have one person who barters with me, she buys a bag of pellets and we trade for any rabbit she wants.
right now a bag of pellets is $15.75 + tax.

10-15 is a fair price in most place, if you can get more awesome, the faster you will recover your startup cost. No reason you can't make a profit off a $15 dollar rabbit.

I do mine at $2 per lb live weight so I can sell some. If I ask $15 to $20 for a 5 lb live meat rabbit---I would be eating all I raise because no one around here would buy one. People will pay a little more for a Pet rabbit than they will for a meat rabbit. I do offer a Free---Help You Dress Your rabbit---to the ones that want help---that only takes minutes.

I could only find one ad for fryers. It was in Craigslist. In the nearest major city (Austin), the ad says $12.00 for live fryers or $18.00 each butchered.

Weight shows at 5-6 pounds live and 2.5 - 3 pounds butchered. They also sell USDA vacuum packed at $10.00 per pound.
