Has anyone ever had one before?

I thought at birth... odd this... maybe a REALLY light lilac magpie. I've had them before, I simply send them off to freezer camp or pet sales.

BUT this one is NOT a light lilac magpie, it's pure white.

I find that odd...

I've seen it in Harlequin Mini Rex where they are all fawn with no stripes but genetically are a Harelquin.

coloured eyes as far as I recall. I'll double check when I do chores tonight... first I need to get a lad to bed. :)

__________ Tue Oct 04, 2011 11:04 am __________

looks like it's going to have pink eyes. the eyes are just starting to open and I don't see dark, I see light... so it's a real hmm... wonder when nz's were crossed into them a way back???

I'm sure they were and REW is one of those that can pop up even several generations down the line. I know other breeders across the US have had REW pop up in their litters, too. I am guessing it was to improve type/growth/etc. at some point. I am planning on crossing NZR and Harlies myself.

Best of luck,

Lauren

REW is tough, carriers show no sign
but you can also have BEW, but it does funky stuff with the pattern and is therefore classed as a pattern gene and not color

well my little REW harlequin is doing well. two weeks old and nibbling hay this morning with siblings.
