well GTS kindled and was all done with things when i did chores at 8am on may 4. she kindled 11. three runts, half the size of the others. 1 kit had died when i checked that evening (10 total).
Blue had kindled 1 kit in the night on may 6. i only checked because it sounded like a coon or something was attacking the hutches or something, turned out it was the growouts making a ruckus with midnight bunny nascar. i palpated her the other day and she definitely has several in there so i leave her to it. i wait and wait and no more babies... getting worried... wait and wait more... i find one stretched kit not in the nest, get rid of it. i pop the runts from GTS in with Blues single, later one of the runts died (9, 1 total). wait and wait.... no more babies... wait and wait... one dead kit not in the nest with some of the head eaten, get rid of it.. one of GTS litter died (8, 1 total).

and thats where i am now. i know Blue has more in there and more than anything i am worried she wont pass them ): so she'd either die or they'd be stuck in there and she wouldn't be able to have more litters. the store doesnt have raspberry leaf tea and i cant find lavender and dont have plants. so i am at a loss of anything i can do for her ): if she doesnt pass them i may put her in with the buck and try that, which is supposed to cause contractions. that way even if she has them and ends up takin again from it i can deal alot better fattening her back up from a back to back litter or losing some kits than losing her.

she is acting fine and eating and drinking. and the ones in her nest are getting fed.

Give her tums. It may be too late but when a doe is having trouble or miserably sitting about ready to go in to labor but not quite having it happen sometimes calcium can help get contractions going. Rabbits usually like the taste of tums. You may be at the point though that you need a shot of oxytocin to save her. I haven't done that with rabbits before. We have only had the farm vet out to help with horses foaling and I took one cat in for oxytocin once.

i did give her tums.. ):

agh why is it always the one that you really want to keep?!?!?!?!

-- Thu May 08, 2014 10:26 pm --

she is doing fine. i dont feel any kits in her now. either i felt kits that werent there in a bit of panic or she birthed them and ate them without me seeing. she is doing good though.
i adopted over two more of GTS kits ((have white snips on the head, so i know which they are)) because Blue was full up with milk, she has wonderful milk veins! and the kits she had were fat up. i am gonna check GTS belly for her milk, her kits she has are growing good but havent seen em fat up. depending on how she looks i might breed her back and slowly pop the kits in with Blue since she is so full of milk. or at least pop them over for a feeding from Blue.
