I was hoping that because her mom was an A++ first time mom that it would be passed to her daughter... granted her daughter is still on the young side. I have already moved 3 of her 8 to her mothers box of 8 (her mom is like a dairy cow!)

One kit is emaciated... I have given two very small feeding of lamb milk replacer (only stuff i have right now, and its bad enough to be a life or death)

the others are way under fed but much stronger by comparison, but not thriving, barely surviving... The does mom had her litter hours after her, and hers are all 2-3 times the size of hers, bouncy and squeely and very full and round...

so i put all the large black kits with her mom, and let her keep the smaller ones... they wont be able to compete with the rambunctious other litter.. hopefully she new mom will better be able to handle these guys but im going to keep trying to supplement until they get stronger...

Oh, and she made a hay next an hr before she kindled, but did not pull any fur... So i stole half her moms nest (which she promptly replaced lol, such a great mom :) )

I have another mom, a 2nd timer who will kindle soon, if she only has 3 or 4, i will put the weakest ones in with her and hope they do better...

I love this first time doe such a good bunny... but... Strike 1 ... :(

-- Wed Jun 18, 2014 12:26 pm --

THe 3 kits i fostered over seem to be improving with the different mom.

I did loose the really skinny kit and the ones left with mom seem to be getting fed somewhat better, definitely more round, but not huge huge like id like to see... still no fur pulled so im going to assume shes not going to...

The other doe has not yet kindled, she must have been bred later than i thought (they were in a colony, and i marked the day i put the buck in, the one doe had hers right on time, so she should be any day now... shes acting nesty)

i would have but with the temps the bit i god from her mom and with the horse hair its more than enough :) had it been colder id have done that... I've also upped her grain ration and ill start adding boss... i noticed she starting to loose condition...
